Migration API Milestone 3 - Migration Releases

Beta users currently have the restriction of creating documents within the document list, which means they are unable to preview or publish these documents at one time without a lot of manual clicks.

Milestone 3, our migration release, is going to solve that problem, but it touches a deep and complex part of wroom code and there is quite a bit of work going on behind the scenes to accomplish this.

We expect Milestone 3 to be live in December.

Update from last week:

Release additional tracking for Migration API and Asset API ❌

• We now have more complete tracking on the Migration API so we can tell when users make a failed request and when they update documents via the API.
• The Asset API tracking is still pending.

Creating a release via the Migration API ✅

• Last week, we already laid some impressive groundwork for our new Migration Releases.
• Our first iteration will involve a single release that will be available to the user via a new navigation item on the left-hand menu. All documents created and updated via the Migration API will flow into this release.
• In future iterations, we plan to add the ability to create multiple migration releases.

Finalized the design for the Migration API UI ✅

• Huge thanks for Anthony for his support! The prototype is here.
• We also decided to build the first iteration in the editor UI after discussion with PageBuilder team, in order to ease dependencies on the PageBuilder squad's timeline for rebuilding the document list.

Focus for this week:

• Have a first testable PR for the entire flow of a Migration Release that includes creating, previewing and publishing documents within a migration release. The UI for Migration releases is coming later and will not be part of this goal.
