Ready for admin users to try the migration api

For Q4, our squad set a public release of the Migration API as our goal. As the complex database work that Platform is performing to switch over our database is still ongoing, we are not yet ready to make a full public release, but we are ready to release a way to have the API discoverable and the first request accessible without a waitlist request.

Updates from last week:

New screen and content showing admin users how to make a first request to the Migration API

This has been a big team effort, with UI implementation by Piotr, design by Anthony, content reviewed by Sam, and preparations for release have been completed between Amaury and Michel and Mehdi. Lastly, Samuel H. tested the flow for us and created his first request.

Build the new core api endpoint to move update requests from published documents to migration releases

This is tested and will be released in the next days alongside the above release. The mechanism for moving draft documents is a bit more complex, so we will take care of this additional case in the coming weeks.

Goal for this week:

Release "Try Migration API" flow for admin users to make a first request with a demo key

Admin users who want to try out the Migration API Beta can follow step-by-step instructions to make their first POST request via the "Migration Releases" navigation item. This request is made via a shared key, and we are clearly positioning it as a demo key with limited availability.

Enabling this feature will make the Migration API more discoverable, give us a better understanding of intent to use and the scale of usage after public release.

We are spending this week making sure the release goes smoothly and tracking is in place, the support team is informed and our squad is ready for support escalation. Mehdi will be rolling out this release gradually in the next few days.
