PB Update - Legacy Slices
By Guy
tl;dr
Last week we shipped the following items:
Bugs:
We fixed a pesky bug that meant that users couldn't save a singleton type doc created in a locale
We fixed a bug that meant the search wasn't working in a content relationship field
UID v2:
Added a badge to UID field so that users who add a duplicate UID can see the document it is being used in and be redirected to that page
Made sure UID doesn't accept forbidden characters
Made sure UIDs can be shared across locales and custom types
Improved the error message when a save/publish fails due to a lack of UID or a duplicate UID
Link to media in Rich Text:
You can now add a link to a media item in a Rich Text field
Added a pop-over card so you can see a preview of the media item you've linked to
Design/UXR
Live preview adoption
We aim to understand the full context behind why our users didn't set up the live preview
We are scoping our research plan and finalising our materials this week
Content management workflows
We finalised the scope for this study and starting the recruitment this week
Our aim is to understand end-to-end content management workflow for the ICP teams
Focus for this week:
Publish v2
The feature is almost complete i.e. we can now publish a version of a document to a release. However, we are missing some additional functionality we consider blocking for releasing such as ability to publish a release version of a document right away or archive it. The back-end and front-end teams are co-ordinating this week to ensure we have the functionality we need from Core API to ship this week.
We also took the opportunity last week to improve the UX to reduce the number of interactions to publish and simplify the difference between scheduling at a date and time and in a release
Legacy slices
We groomed this scope of work last week and are aiming to start work this week
