tl;dr

Last week we shipped the following items:

Legacy Slices

We finished the remaining work on Legacy Slices which means that users can now add Legacy Slices from the slice selector menu.

We also updated our tracking so that we can differentiate between when legacy or shared slices are being added to pages.

Release improvements

Users can now save a release version of a document. This means users can edit a release version and the new version they create is added to the release. This includes making sure the status bar remains the same colour

Document List (all work currently behind a feature flag)

The document list is now populated with documents from the doc list endpoint (not infinite for now)

All of the items in the document list are now links

Media Lib

We finished work on a draft PR for the media migration. We were able to run it on one repo and the media was migrated successfully.

Focus for this week

Improve our routing (from last week)

The goal of this is to avoid 404s and ensure we always redirect to the "next best version" we can find. The problem with our current routing (in Page Builder) is that if the user if the users clicks on a draft in the document list or follows an older link to a document and that version_id is no longer known (i.e, no longer an interesting version), our current redirecting logic will show them the most recent version, which may have any status

Media library back-end

Review the PR for the media migration and start work on the next steps for the migration

Media library front-end

All the front-end tickets have been scoped and estimated. They are going through a final review today and we anticipate to start work on the UI this week.

Live preview adoption

Last week we brainstormed on our improvement ideas to increase the adoption & created an action plan:

1. First scope of work: Rework the existing design assets in the Page builder (Partner with Sam & PY for a video + improved copy)

2. We will incrementally implement our ideas and track the changes in adoption

UX study recruitment is ongoing, one session scheduled this week
