PB Update - Manage v2
By Guy
tl;dr
Last week we shipped the following items:
Unpublish a doc:
Users can now unpublish and archive a page from within the Page BuilderLink to a document in a RT:
Users can now create a link to prismic page from within a Rich Text fieldBugs squashed
Bulleted list:
We fixed a bug related to where bulleted lists interspersed with paragraphs were not displaying in the Page BuilderDisplay name in tabs:
We made it easier to find the right tab in your browser by displaying the name of the repo and page you are working on in the tabItems scoped
Media Library:
We took a decision related to the architecture of the new Media Library. The decision was taken after a successful proof of concept and presentation to the engineering team. For those interested, you can read more about the PoC here. Post PoC we are now in the process of implementing the new architecture.Design/UXR
User Roles
The first version of the design has been scoped, with the introduction of the 'Workspaces' and the three user roles (writer. publisher, read-only).
As a next step, we are now working on the flow of configuring a workspace and adding users to a workspace. We will evaluate our designs this week and plan our next steps accordingly.
Content management workflows
We're working on segment targeting at the moment, we will start the recruitment once it's done.
Responsive UI for mobile
To address the need for adaptability of PB with mobile devices we have worked on some initial concepts (optimising for editing content on the go). We plan to evaluate the concepts this week and plan our next steps on this topic.
Focus for this week:
Deploy
Manage v2 with feature flag (allow people with manage v2 access to enable Page Builder on a repo)
Locale: traverse docs to replace the links to the ones in the right locale (including upgrading types internal which will enable support of the upgrade tool)
Scoped & ready to start
Publishing: starting work on ability to publish at a release (at a time and date or as part of a release)
Design & concept ready
Granular user roles: flow for setting up a workspace
Responsive version of Page Builder
Last week we worked on the first version of the concept (optimising for editing content on the go), this means trying to get users to the content as quickly as possible. We think we are close to the first version and from there we will then start iterating through the different editor fields.
