A.I Update - Release of Prompt to Slice and next Steps

By Renaud from A.I Squad

Progress Last Week

Release of Prompt to Slice

Last week, we aimed to release our new "Prompt to Slice" feature to some of our users.

As a reminder this is what the Prompt to Slice feature allow you to do:

  • Select the most relevant slice based on your prompt and create boilerplate content
  • If you select a specific slice in the Slice Modal, generate content for the chosen slice.
  • Produce content in the language of the chosen document.

We demoed the feature during the Bi-weekly Product Meeting on Friday you can see it here

Starting at 38:18

Releasing this feature caused collaboration issues with the Page Builder and SRE teams, which we plan to avoid in future by communicating better with Quentin and implementing some code standards.

Experiments

We used that feature release to started a trial with Amplitude Experiments. The need of experiments and feature flag is something shared across all squads and we decided that this release was a good opportunity to progress on that front.

The "Prompt to Slice" feature is now available to a subset of users, and you can see the list here

We're using this trial to:

  • Understand how many people start using the feature and keep using it after four weeks.
  • Encourage more users to set up Live Preview, which is required for this feature.

You can follow our progress on Amplitude

Next steps this week:

This week, the main focus will be to iterate on the Prompt to Slice feature by :

  • Adding image management (Finding appropriate images through unsplash)
  • Implement Intercom for feedback on the Page Builder
  • Plan our Research roadmap around Content Guidelines and the need for the smart Copy Paste with Dragana
  • Estimate the work needed for the first iteration of the Smart Copy Paste feature : see design here
  • Discuss Amplitude Experiments limitation with their team and evaluate alternative for feature flags and experiments

It is important to know that Sebastien has moved to the Platform team to support the PrismicDB migration topic, so our team is a bit smaller right now.

We'll decide how to adjust our Quarter plan based on our work and estimation this week.

See you next week and if you have any question please don't hesitate to reach out to #team-ai
